Frequently Asked Questions from Employees of Avinor's Partners at the Airport:
Which operators are at the airports and when does the airport start using license plate recognition?
- ONEPARK has been managing parking at Oslo Airport since March 1, 2019. The Autopay (ANPR) parking system is used in most areas.
Why do I need to register in the portal for employee parking?
- This is how you obtain the parking benefits of being an airport employee.
- Discounts on both work parking and holiday parking.
- Through the portal, you as an employee inform the parking system which vehicle belongs to you, so you receive the correct discounts on your parking.
Where do I register?
- You register at autopay.io with the registration link you should have received by email.
What happens if there are changes to my profile at the ID office?
- ONEPARK has implemented an SMS service that notifies you as a user if there have been changes to your employment status. This service "captures" all changes that have been made, such as name changes, phone number, employer, etc. It is not necessarily you who reported these changes to the ID office, but it could be a general update that has been carried out.
- If you receive such an SMS right after entering, it is important that you promptly go to your Autopay profile (use the link here) and update your parking permit. Until you change this, the parking fee will be without the discount that the employee parking provides.
I use different cars for work. Can I add multiple cars to the system?
In Autopay, you can add multiple cars to your profile, but access to employee parking applies to only one car at a time. If you have multiple cars registered on your profile, employee parking applies to the car that first enters the parking area for the current parking session. You are responsible for ensuring that the correct registration number is entered.
Can an employee extend the time to 200 hours per month?
- No, unfortunately not.
Why is there a cap of 200 hours?
- This is decided based on the current parking patterns of employees at the airports. Note that the number of hours only relates to work parking and not holiday parking.
Can I carry over unused hours from one month to the next?
- There is no "rollover" of hours, unfortunately. A new month means new 200 hours.
The number of hours in my profile is incorrect.
- If we have received an unclear reading of the license plate upon exit, the hour bank will continue to count until this is manually corrected in the backend system. This is done continuously, but sometimes it may take a little longer. This is why the number of hours shows incorrectly when the hour bank is checked before we have corrected the license plate. As soon as this is done, the hour bank is updated correctly.
What do we do when there are multiple users for one vehicle?
- It is not the vehicle that is decisive for employee parking, but the employee's registration in the portal. If two people share the same vehicle, the employees must ensure that the vehicle is registered to "themselves" upon entry.
What should I be aware of if I have multiple vehicles?
- When you register one car, it is this car that is selected for the parking permit. When you then add another car, this does not change, and the first car remains the only valid one for the permit. If you want to use all the cars, you must go to the "parking permits" tab and select "all my cars" from the dropdown menu.
- Employees can change which car applies to their permit after entry, but the change will then apply from the time the change took place. This means that if an employee drives in and stays there for 6 hours with a different car than the one activated in the permit, but changes the entered car to active, the first 6 hours will be parking without a permit (normal rate) and the remaining time will be parking on the permit (employee parking).
What if we are two people sharing multiple vehicles?
- If two people alternate between vehicles and both have the vehicles in their profile, they must manage this in their parking permits. Under the "parking permits" tab, they must select the car that the permit should apply to. This activates this car in the selected parking permit. The profile that last activated the car is the one that will be charged. You can activate the car after it has entered the area as well.
- Employees can change which car is active on their permit after entering the parking area, but the change will only be effective from the time the change was made. This means that if an employee drives in and parks for 6 hours with a different car than the one activated on the permit, but then changes the entered car to active, the first 6 hours will be charged at the normal rate (without the permit), and the remaining time will be charged at the discounted rate (employee parking).
What do I do if I have two employers at the airport?
- If you are employed by two employers at the airport, you should also have two ID cards. You will then be able to register with two different profiles in the portal, so that the parking usage is linked to the correct employer.
My payment card has been charged for parking for a private car. How do I prevent this?
- As an employee, you must register in the solution to get employee parking. If this is not done, your employment status will not be linked to the parking technology, and you will instead be billed for parking like travelers.
- If the employer has not specified that they will receive an invoice on behalf of the employee's parking, the parking usage will be charged directly to the employee's card.
Do I need to enter a payment card?
- No, but it is recommended to avoid an invoice with an invoice fee.
How are these details stored securely?
- All personal information is stored in accordance with the guidelines of the Data Protection Authority. A more detailed description of this can be read in the terms of use during the registration process.
How do I keep track of the number of hours used per month?
- All entries and exits will appear in your profile. You will also always be able to see how many hours remain of the month's quota in the overview on the profile.
What is the background for the prices in the solution?
- Regarding the pricing of parking areas for employees, this is a process that has been carried out across all of Avinor. The parking prices for employees are now more harmonized and treated equally across the major airports.
- The methodology behind the pricing model is that employees should be able to park cheaper in outdoor areas that are further away from the terminal, but the higher the standard of the parking area (criteria include proximity to the terminal, indoor/outdoor parking, maintenance), the higher the hourly rate. It should be noted that the hourly rate is heavily discounted regardless of the parking area, and it is charged according to actual usage.
- The background for this is that Avinor, with the new parking technology, opens all parking areas, and in principle, anyone can park anywhere.
What do we do when a parking area is full?
- All parking areas are open, and you as an employee can in principle park wherever you want, but employees must adhere to the prices that apply to employees per parking area at the respective airport. If a parking area is full, you must drive to the next available/preferred parking area.
Why does Avinor not offer free charging for employees?
- Avinor believes the charging stations are of high quality and that the price for charging is low. If you do not find the offer good enough, it is recommended to charge at home or at fast chargers on the way to or from work.
Can I park in the charging space without charging?
- No, the charging spaces are reserved for those who need to charge. Electric cars can also be parked in other parking spaces.
General Questions about Autopay:
Why have I received an invoice?
- If you have not paid at a payment machine or on onepark.no within 48 hours, you will receive an invoice for parking with an invoice fee. We obtain our invoice addresses from the motor vehicle register, so all invoices are sent to the address where the vehicle is registered with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
- Questions regarding payment of the invoice should be directed to the issuer of the invoice.
I am registered with a payment card for automatic withdrawal, but I still received an invoice, why?
- If you have received an invoice, it may be due to an expired card, a blocked card, or a change of bank. You can change this yourself in your profile. Even if you have the same account, no card numbers are identical to the previous one. You can check this in my profile and add a new card for automatic withdrawal. My profile can be found at autopay.io.
- If you have gotten a new car and have not registered it, you will also receive an invoice.
Why do I get an invoice fee?
- The reason for the invoices coming with an invoice fee is administrative costs. The invoice fee is intended to cover the administration and sending of the invoice.
I did not drive the car, but I received an invoice.
- We obtain our invoice addresses from the motor vehicle register, so all invoices are sent to the address where the vehicle is registered with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. We also cannot redirect or send a new invoice to the correct person.
Another reason for receiving an invoice may be that you have stayed longer than any free period. For example, some shopping centers operate with 1 to 3 hours of free parking. If you stay longer, a parking fee will be charged.
New car, rental car, or leasing car?
The customer is responsible for registering a new car or rental car on their profile at autopay.io.
I have sold my car and got a new one
- If you have received a new car, you can add it and possibly remove the old car on my profile at autopay.io
Rental car for a day, what should I do?
- If you have a rental car for a day, you must add it and remove it when you no longer use it. This is done on my profile at autopay.io
- Settle on the spot to avoid an invoice to the leasing company. Extra costs are covered by the customer.
The machine didn't work, what alternatives do I have?
- Use another machine if possible.
- It is possible to pay on onepark.no within 48 hours after exiting.
- You can also pay with the EasyPark app. This must be started before you leave the parking area and for the correct section. Be aware that EasyPark has a surcharge of 15%.
- The last option is to wait for an invoice.
How can I avoid an invoice?
- Pay at the payment machine before departure.
- Register with a profile for automatic withdrawal on autopay.io.
- Pay on onepark.no within 48 hours.
- Start parking with the EasyPark app upon arrival. Be aware that EasyPark has a surcharge of 15%.
The registration number was not registered at the payment machine, what should I do?
- You can pay on onepark.no within 48 hours.
- Alternatively, you will receive an invoice WITHOUT an invoice fee.
Which payment cards can I use on Autopay?
Currently, it is only possible to use Visa and MasterCard for payment on Autopay.
Unsure if I have registered? (I don't know if I have a profile?)
- When you registered at the payment machine, you received a password via SMS.
- If you can't find the password or haven't received a password, go to autopay.io.
- Here you click on "Forgot password" and enter your email address. Then click on send password. You will then receive a new password.
- If you are not registered, you will not receive a new password.
